QuoteThe Port of Fernandina is growing, with a new liner starting break-bulk service later this month.

Crimson Shipping Co., based in Alabama, will ship products like lumber and steel once a month between Fernandina and San Juan, Puerto Rico, said Val Schwec, director of the port.

"Every little bit helps," Schwec said. He predicts between 60,000 and 70,000 tons a year will ship from the port on Crimson lines.
