Title: Engineering Jobs?
Post by: Sonic101 on July 31, 2014, 10:26:42 AM
I live in St. Augustine and I've been a long time lurker of the forums, but I will be graduating from Kettering University in Flint, MI this December with a Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering. I've been having some trouble finding some ME related jobs in the Jax area. So, does anyone know of companies that employ ME's?

Your best bet around here is going to be something in defense (civil service or contractor support to the navy in some aspect) unless you want to get into the building systems stuff the above posters mentioned.

The paper mills in the area look for ME on a regular basis. That would be Rayonier Fernandina Beach, RockTenn Fernandina Beach, RockTenn Jacksonville and GP Palatka.

As a mech engineer, you should look at Unison, NAVAIR (US Navy), Vistakon (Johnson & Johnson), CSX, and Saft Batteries.  There may even be positions at Anhueser-Busch or Swisher, if those float your boat.

Thanks y'all. I'll look into these. I've been in Michigan long enough to realize that there's no place like home; warm, warm home  :D.
