Arlington / Southside Democrats Unite! We are starting the Arlington / Southside Democratic Club of Jacksonville. Our first event for acting board officers/members and founding club members will be Thursday, August 7th, 7:30pm at the Regency Library Conference Room. Or goal is to begin preparations for a September or an October general meeting at the Regency Branch Library that will eventually be rotated with the Southeast Branch Library each month. The goal is to join together with other like minded Democrats for fun, activism, camaraderie, and action for our communities. Like the Beaches Democratic Club we want to form a strong organization that represents the individual Democratic voter that feels overwhelmed by the highly financed local GOP that acts in the name of corporate interests at the expense of small businesses and local community interests. I'm not a democrat but Arlington could use more of these types of clubs, it's good for the community. You might want to contact the old Arlington society to see if they'll make an announcement at their next meeting, and also the Arlington newcomers club. You might also go to the Arlington-Beaches CPAC meeting on Monday, August 11 in the meeting room at Craig Airport. They start at 6:30pm, and have a public comment time at the end of the meeting (in the 8 - 8:30 time frame). Also, reach out to the Jacksonville Young Democrats - some of them might live in Arlington.
Have you already reserved the meeting room at the library? I hear they get booked up far in advance.
Thanks to you both for the advice. I had not considered Reddit. I also did not consider the Arlington-Beaches CPAC as I didn't think they would allow someone to bring that up even in the comments period. Again, great advice and I'll certainly follow it!
