For those that don't think public transit or walkability should be a priority...or for that matter, a downtown convention center, please read this exerpt from RNC committee re: reasons for choosing Cleveland for 2016 Convention.
"On two key measures – public transit and walkability – Cleveland ranked first among the six finalists for the 2016 Republican National Convention. A third benchmark – traffic congestion – rated Cleveland almost the least likely to have gridlock, trailing only Kansas City."
Kind of ironic that the party that doesn't seem to value public infrastructure investment (other than roads) ranks convention cities using transit service as a key metric.

Interesting. Anyway, they're right. Cleveland is pretty easy to get around, due to their comprehensive transit network, which includes BRT, LRT, and Heavy rail.

seriously, they may have learned their lesson from Tampa in 2012. The lack of enough hotel rooms downtown and a decent transit system led to 1-2 charter bus rides for many delegates.
