They're just calling it "V Pizza" now, not "Veloce".

I stopped in once already. It is definitely an awesome space and the pizza was fine but the lighting, to me, was horrible! It's lit almost entirely by fluorescent lights and I felt like I was in a hospital.

Maybe they'll get that fixed?

This place is now open.
Went in last night. I really like the layout of the place....wide open. Order at the counter, take a number and find a table, then they bring you your order. Got the pizza in about 5 minutes. Wings in about 8 mins. Wings looked beautiful, but were just way too lemony. Tone down the lemon. Pizza also looked beautiful. Tasted great too except where there were pockets of charr on the bottom of the crust that left that burnt toast aftertaste in my mouth. They are new, so they will be getting some chances to improve. There is also a bar area next door called The Sidecar. It shares a side door entrance with the restaurant. The Sidecar opens up onto Hendricks. Cool addition to the area.
  They also had valet parking.

I think the charred/burnt pockets are normal for that style pizza.

The space, from the outside, reminds me of Antico in ATL.

Look forward to trying it

I was turned off by the lighting as well, but according to an employee the look was intentional. Should be an easy fix though, with enough customer complaints...  ;)

From the pictures, the interior seems to lack character.  Can you see the ovens from the dining room?  The ovens do have character with the names on them so I would hope they would showcase them to the customers and not just the kitchen staff.  At $40+ for a 12" pizza, calzone, and salad for two seems pricey for a pizza joint (second hand from a friend that had dinner there last night).

I'm willing to give them a try, just underwhelmed at the moment.

I don't think it lacks character--from the looks of the pictures, it looks identical to Antico in ATL, which has to be a top-5 US pizza joint. Kind of refreshing, not being filled with clutter and kitsch.

Look forward to checking it out in person today

Here's a picture from the table I was at.

It's not a cheap place, but the prices are fair for the quality and freshness of the product. Normally I steer clear of places when they're this new, but I was pleasantly surprised. They just need to do something about the cheapo paper plates.

The pizza is adequate. It's certainly not amazing. It's barely good for this category of pizza.

There is no way to justify a $17 price tag for a 12-inch pizza (it may have been smaller than 12 inches). I have had more tasteful and filling experiences at Carmines and Moon River for $6 (includes a drink).

The top price should be $10.00, at the most. Really, I think it should be less.

If I was paying for atmosphere, heightened service or fine tableware then maybe...but none of those elements exist. The atmosphere is fast-casual. The service is Panera-ish. The tableware is paper. The parma is meh as is the fresh mozzarella. Although, the mozzarella di Bufala is a much tastier option. Go with that if you plan on visiting

This is my least favorite aspect of Jacksonville. When business owners do something just a bit better than the rest (Franchise Pizza) the price is increased to something beyond the value. At least, and obviously, in my estimation.

A shame, I love this style of pizza. One of my favorite places to eat is Antico Pizza in Atl. I was hoping V Pizza would fill the Jacksonville void.

Antico is one of the best pizza joints I've ever been to. Period.

From the pictures, it looked like V was trying to replicate that idea.

Reviews seem to suggest they're falling short.
