T-U hints it could be an SEC championship of some kind.
QuoteThe council will hit the ground running on Wednesday when it announces what it terms "a major sporting event" for the area. The SEC, which is holding its spring meetings in Destin, is making a joint announcement of the event, likely to be a conference championship.

Could be the SEC Baseball tournament?
I know Nashville locked up the Men's basketball recently, outside of 2018 :
Nashville would be the primary home for the conference men's basketball tournament for the next dozen years. Bridgestone Arena will play host to the five-day league championship event from 2015-2017, 2019-2021, and 2023-2025. The city will also host the women's SEC Tournament in 2018, 2022, and 2026 Women's 2015 tourney will be played in Little Rock?
I think Football is not going to move the SECCG from it's ultra successful home, the only way would be in case the new Atlanta stadium is not ready in time but I don't think that will be the case.

My guess would be gymnastics. Baseball is scheduled to be in Hoover for the foreseeable future, whereas gymnastics doesn't have a site for 2015 yet (to my knowledge, at least). The arena would be a good venue.
Gymnastics? Would that be a major announcement?
Sources from the Gator Bowl Association are saying that it will be the SEC Women's Basketball Tournament.
That would be a good get.
The women's tournament had open dates in 2016/17.

do people travel for that?
I know Tennessee does.
I don't know about travel, but it gets solid crowds over the course of several days wherever it's played. It would definitely be a good get if this is it.
It is 2016. Verlander says estimated 5 million of local economic impact.

Why not bring back a sure thing, the Gator Bowl Basketball Classic with 4 teams, one being JU, maybe UNF, against 2 other teams.

I love watching JU/UNF. I went to both schools. Good local rivalry.
