This is one of Alvin Browns buddies, and a favorite of many individuals from way back when.  Artis was appointed as "Sports Czar/Ambassador" to one of Browns, taking Jacksonville to another level positions.  Gilmore has worked that title and unrestricted access to tax dollars to line his pockets.  Remember folks, he was hired part time.

Glad media looked into this.  Now someone needs to ask what other Brown appointee, Senator Tony Hill is actually doing to earn the money he is paid, besides just walking around looking busy "some" of the time.  All of Hills supposed high level connections were going to help our city, you know, "to the next level". Again, the next level has lined Hills pockets and the taxpayers have been fleeced.  IMO  You see folks, there is also a long standing GOB system in Jacksonville in the Black community.  Pay attention people.  Our city is being played at multiple levels. Oh the "cha-ching" of it all.  Gosh, if only Mayor Brown had been able to get that street named after his pastor, another of this friends would have been happy as well, courtesy of tax dollars.

By the way Jacksonville Daily Record, you have rock.  Great investigation!

QuoteA Daily Record review of Gilmore's hours, calendar and pay from April 9, 2012-Oct. 18 showed he exceeded his 25-hour per week cap 84 percent of the time and earned $112,000 for the part-time job that pays $57.69 an hour.

"It's something that we have to work on more closely," Alan Verlander, former city director of sports and entertainment, said at the time.

In the six months since the Oct. 28 story, those hours have significantly come down, according to public records. Time sheets once peppered with five- and six-hour days are more commonly filled with four-hour days.

In the 23 weeks from Oct. 21-March 28, Gilmore exceeded the 25-hour cap four times, but only twice in full weeks after the story was published.

During those 23 weeks, Gilmore was paid for 501 hours, which totals about $28,900. The period included three holiday weeks.
