Was at an event where the mayor was speaking last night, and he made sure to mention the press conference announcing this "historic" ;) race. From a novelty standpoint, I'm pretty interested in checking this out. Too bad it's the same weekend as USMNT vs Nigeria, but that'll just make for one crazy wknd!

I will be interested to hear the feedback on this event after it occurs.
The race will occur mostly where residential are next to the river.
Two things of note.
Noise from the engines
Excessive waves
I don't qualify as a NIMBY in this case since I don't live on the river but having attended a race before I could anticipate some feedback might not be positive.
But I think it is worth a try. We have air shows at NAS Jax all the time and people love them.

How about some feedback before it occurs. What about the manatees? Was this issue ever before the Jacksonville Waterways Commission? What an event for Downtown but let's all remember that the RAM dock is only open when RAM is open. Not Good. 4 years later and a big issue was the manatee.
Just pick and choose the winners and losers. And the small independent sparks will fizzle out.
2013-384 the armory for a buck a year and ZERO access to Hogans Creek.
Scott Wilson- feel free to jump in here but what about the RFI,RFP during the subcommittee meeting of the DIA and ZERO access to the floating dock at Shipyards.
The Jim Love, Kevin Kuzel 26' along with Councilwoman Lori Boyer's gift to Florida. Can still happen in the CRA/DIA in the USA.
The 4/2/14 Noticed meeting and the 10 year no compete clause on a yet to be built taxpayer dock on the Southbank being given to one vendor.
So many more examples. Add your own.
A positive event.
