Title: Road work downtown
Post by: jaxjaguar on March 24, 2014, 10:19:58 AM
There is currently road work on the intersections of Pearl / Church and Pearl / Ashley. It appears that the asphalt is being cut to lay traffic sensors AND change the flow of traffic to two way based on the cuts they're making!! Is this really happening? Are we finally getting away from the grid system!?!?

Does anyone have more info on this?

A dream come true if that's what they're doing - the one-way system is maddening.

nope...that won't start until summer and isn't on Pearl Street

the City did do a study a few years back on traffic circulation around the courthouse....and it was recommended that some one-way streets be converted to two-way...but to my knowledge, no funds have been allocated for the work.
