Congratulations Mike. Well deserved. Will be doing the March 22 cleanup behind the Jacksonville Historical society on Hogans Creek and if you show up maybe we will be able to do another drawing out of a shopping cart using using Jacksonville city council speaker cards. You do inspire.
Congrats Mike!

Thanks everyone. I'm really excited to go to Chatanooga. I've been twice. Once about 24 years ago when my dad and I took a summer trip to my great aunt's tobacco farm in Kentucky. I vividly remember that it stunk (in the olfactory sense) much like Jacksonville did at the time and that the riverfront was heavily industrialized and not particularly impressive nor green (again, similar to my hometown). About five years ago, I went white water rafting at the Olympic course in Ocoee... and one evening we ventured into downtown Nooga for dinner. I was really amazed at the transformation that had taken place. It was completely different in every sense from my childhood experience. I think it's a perfect case study for Jacksonville, to be honest.
What tour are you most interested in going on? I'm finding it pretty hard to make a choice at this point. The last time I was in Chattanooga was six years ago but I know enough about the area to know that all 4 have spots worth participating in. Anyway, I think the best thing you'll enjoy about this group is getting to know and form relationships with some of the smartest and creative young people in the country. You'll come back to Jax full of ideas that can enhance our community's quality-of-life.
Go to the hospital I was born in.
