Satya Nadella To Be Named Microsoft CEO

Microsoft's head of enterprise and cloud computing Satya Nadella will soon be named the company's next chief executive office, according to Bloomberg.
The news agency reported Thursday that the Microsoft board also could be preparing to replace company co-founder Bill Gates as chairman, with Microsoft director, Virtual Instruments CEO, and former Symantec CEO John Thompson named as a candidate for that role.
Bloomberg cited unnamed "people with knowledge of the process" as the sources of the information about Nadella, Gates, and Thompson. However, those sources said "the plans aren't final," according to the news agency.
Nadella, 46, was identified as a strong candidate to replace outgoing Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer relatively late in the game.
