St Augustine does need better quality mid-priced hotels so this sounds like a good thing.

I suppose it's untapped waterfront & it's close to a burgeoning new district (near the Ice Plant & distillery).

I thought for sure this was the hotel that was supposed to be built at the old San Sebastian site across the river.  Nonetheless, still good news.

I've been told that the city has been in the process of trying to redevelop all 4 corners fo the US1 and King St. intersection.  They want it to be a new gateway into the historic district.  This hotel seems to fit within that vision.
