Jacksonville nonprofit bringing 100 employees to Downtown's Southbank

A Jacksonville nonprofit is bringing about 100 employees to Downtown's Southbank.
Family Support Services of North Florida Inc. is building out 27,000 square feet, or two floors, of office space in the AvMed Building, at 1300 Riverplace Blvd., according to an application for a city building permit filed Monday. FSS is a nonprofit agency that has a contract with the state of Florida to provide child protection services.
Build out of the two floors is to cost $569,697, according to the permit.
Lisa Collins, a spokeswoman for the organization, confirmed the move and said it is a consolidation, as FSS employees are currently in four buildings in the Midtown Centre, an office park near Downtown off of Beach Boulevard.
The move is an expansion of 3,000 to 5,000 square feet, said Chuck Young, executive operating office for FSS. Young said the company was drawn to the AvMed Building because it is closer to the courthouse and the availability of free parking in a surface lot adjacent to the building.
Collins said the company's move is tentatively scheduled for March.

The space they are moving into was recently vacated by the US Postal Service District office which moved to the Kings Rd. facility.
Good for FSS, they do A LOT of good locally and they have been spread out and the old buildings in the old Koger Center are just that old. Glad they will all be together. Chuck Young is a fantastic person too!
