FSU 41
Auburn 24
Close at half time, something like 17-14. But in the 3rd & 4th quarter FSU shows who has the better players and defense, pulls away comfortably.
The line is FSU - 8.5
I will take
FSU 48
Auburn 28
Believe the line has moved to FSU -10 in the past day or two. General public bet more on Auburn -8.5, but the gambling experts have started putting big money on FSU which bumped the line up.
I think the long layoff will cause the offenses to be rusty and help the defenses to be better prepared. I'm predicting a lower score than most probably will. FSU 31 Auburn 28. That said, if FSU can control the line of scrimmage and shut down Auburn's run game, the game could get out of hand by halftime.
Bummed I couldn't make it out there. Had a free flight and free place to stay, but had to stay here for work.
I've really tried to stay away from predictions on the game...but oh well, here goes
FSU - 45
Auburn - 34
Fine, I'll be the odd woman out here.
Auburn 38
FSU 35
Auburn seems to be the team with the rabbit's foot lodged in its back pocket. On paper, FSU is the better overall team but Auburn has defied the odds all season. The team with the ball last will win. I'll go with CityLife's prediction but in reverse. Auburn does what the cleat chaser couldn't do......take Jameis and his boyz down 31-28!
^ you mean what Miami couldn't do
Count them. Don't hate....

Princeton laughs at your measly 5 national title rings with their 28. ;)
That picture must be either from the FBI's casefile of Shapiro's closet when they arrested him or the pawn shop in Coral Gables where all the washed up players go to pawn their rings once the dirty booster money dries up.
It feels much more like 1999, than 1998 or 2000.
FSU dominates tonight from the word go.
On the warpath....
I'm no good with predictions, but I'm excited the day is finally here.
This does feel an awful lot like 1999.
Happy birthday, Jameis - now Get. To. Work.

Damn Lake you know he is going to post one now.
I can't wait until FSU wins to shove it in the face of the 'SEC snobs'. No other conference acts like they're holier than thou but the SEC. Even the Ivy League isn't as nauseating with their academics, as the SEC is for 'playing tougher opponents' blah blah blah... My prediction 49-32 Noles. Go FSU!!!!

I loved seeing Oklahoma get all up in Alabama's azz. While it would burn my soul to see FSU get their third ring, it would be cool to see an ACC team take out an SEC team for the championship. Maybe I'll switch my selection to FSU?...

They just made a mistake and scored to fast. This game is now FSU's to win. Can Jameis step up and do it? This is no Clemson.
Guess so huh!! This is why u don't post silly post until the fat lady has song.
When it's all said and done, I'm still sleeping good tonight, which is why I continue to post. I have no money on the game and UM fell off down the stretch. It's too fun poking FSU fans who were too scared to post during the game. I literally have nothing to lose.
Good comeback Noles. Two more rings to go!
Well to my Auburn friends out there, you've just been impregnated by Mr. Jameis. On the other hand, next year can't come fast enough. This guy needs to go pro as fast as possible so we can enjoy another decade of Chris Rix ball.

Holy crap, what a game!
A freshman Heisman-winning QB plays the Championship game on his birthday, and wins! People would say that a movie plot like that would be to unbelievable! Jameis is a clutch baller!!! Helluva effort by Auburn!! Awesome game, congrats to the Noles!!
Great game, as an FSU fan I wanted a blowout but wow what a game.
Did yall see Winston Heisman-stiff arm that dude on that long run? LOL
Well, this question is being said everywhere; What do yall think is the best BCS game, USC vs Texas a while back with Vince Young, or 2013's BCS? I don't even know, both games were so great!
Both were great but I'll go with USC vs Texas. I don't know what the spreads for these games were but USC had been dominant for so long, it seemed like Texas was a bigger underdog that actually won.
Auburn played their best game, FSU did not. And we still won.
I'll take it : )
Agreed. Auburn really stepped it up on defense last night and had our guys confused for most of the first half.
One thing I have noticed all season is the amazing ability of Jeremy Pruitt to make in-game defensive adjustments. This was very evident last night.
And no SEC fans, it is cold today but hell has not frozen over!
Auburn's defense, and the fact that half of their touchdowns came from starting drives at FSU's 25 and 27 kept them close enough to make this a great game.
Auburn played much better on defense than I expected. I give their coaching staff credit. But Fisher and his coaches made better second half adjustments and controlled the second half. Great win!
I saw some comments that they started using towels again to hide play calls like they were earlier in the season during the 2nd half. Auburn was all over the snap count in the first half and the allegation was that they knew the plays FSU was running. ESPN never showed the sideline so I don't know if this is accurate or not.
^My friend was sitting pretty close to the FSU bench. He said the coaches started using the towels either late in the 2nd quarter or in the 2nd half. Damyeune Craig of Auburn was FSU's QB coach last year, so he must have had some clue about FSU's hand signals. Really surprised that Jimbo didn't expect that to happen from the start.
Auburn played a great game, got some favorable calls from the refs, and caught 5 lucky bounces (3 fumbles and 2 punts), but FSU did a good job of hanging tough early when things could have gotten out of hand. Pretty impressive to win a title while playing a B- or C game. Feels amazing.

Well you guys did catch a huge break with Auburn shanking that easy first half FG. Nevertheless, the better team won.

My opinion is that in the BCS era, probably most thrillng was USC/UT, followed by UM/Ohio State then FSU/Auburn.
All in all, a fantastic season. Scalp Em Noles!
Good one, JeffreyS!
Fieldafm, the UM/OSU game wasn't thrilling. It was a freaking nightmare. It was just as bad as the UM/PSU game in the 80s and UM/Bama game in the early 90s. I can't stand OSU today and it's specifically because of that game.
I bet this guy doesnt like football...
QuoteThe Florida State Seminoles: The Champions of Racist Mascots
Dave Zirin on January 7, 2014 - 12:54 PM ET
It's easy to oppose the name of the Washington Redskins and call for owner Dan Snyder to change his beloved bigoted brand. After all, it's a dictionary-defined slur bestowed on the NFL franchise by their arch-segregationist, minstrel-loving founder. When you have Native American organizations, leading sportswriters, Republicans as well as Democrats in Congress and even the president say the time has come to change the name, it is not exactly difficult to get on board.
But what about the Florida State Seminoles, whose football team on Monday night won the Vizio/Dow Chemical/Blackwater/Vivid Video BCS National Championship Game? The NCAA, since 2005, has had formal restrictions against naming teams after Native American tribes, and yet there were the Seminole faithful: thousands of overwhelmingly Caucasian fans with feathers in their hair, doing the Tomahawk chop and whooping war chants on national television. Their passions were stirred into a frenzy by a white person, face smeared with war paint, dressed as the legendary chief Osceola riding out on a horse. As Stewart Mandel of Sports Illustrated gushed, "Chief Osceola plants the flaming spear in the Rose Bowl. Awesome." (Osceola was adopted after the school quietly retired their previous Native American mascot "Sammy Seminole.")

Or at least teams appropriating Indian names and imagery to sell team spirit and T-shirts.

Not a UM fan, but UM got screwed in the UM/OSU game. The excuse from the official about having to review the play in his head before he threw the flag is a load of crap.
What a great month.
My baby girl was born on the 19th, and two weeks later I got to place her in front of the TV and force her to watch Florida State take the National Championship with me while whispering nasty things about the Gators and Canes in her ear.
I really think it's going to reap dividends in 18 years when it's time to start filling out those applications.

As far as Winston goes, I wonder what they could even do in a civil suit at this point, even if the allegations were true. It's clearly too late to prove anything. However, going after the Tallahassee Police Department is totally understandable. We'll never know the true story one way or the other because of how badly they handled the investigation. Through the whole thing they've made themselves look like the Podunk Hayseed Kampus Kops, more interested in keeping the town gravy boat unsloshed than investigating a rape allegation. I think we all knew this wasn't over.
Tach, have you actually read the reports from the TPD investigation and SAO or are you just basing your opinion off the clowns in the sports media?
Girl got caught cheating on her BF and lied to her roommates about getting raped to cover her ass. Her story and her terrible lawyers are full of holes....and fyi, The SAO fairly recently wrongly charged a star FSU player with rape...only for an all female jury to unanimously declare him innocent.
^ Why should Winston settle...the risk is greater for her....right now, her name has not been "officially" released....when they file a civil suit, it will certainly be made public...and then all of her dirty laundry will be on parade.
Now, TPD may want to settle.
tufsu, you mean like the tweet of hers shortly before the incident where she said, "hit me up if you're on the FSU basketball team. I promise I'm wifey material."
I read the state attorney report, and it's a total clown show. It's basically the SA investigators trying to piece together an investigation a year later, after evidence has been lost irretrievably and the witnesses have clearly forgotten details (and in some cases, had a chance to get their stories straight). This wouldn't have happened if the initial investigation was handled by a real police department instead of the South Cooterville Volunteer Policin' Society and Seminoles Booster Club.
This (http://www.tampabay.com/news/publicsafety/experts-jameis-winston-investigation-flawed-from-the-start/2156871) article from the Tampa Bay Times highlights some of the many ways the cops botched the case. Not interviewing witnesses and letting Winston's attorney get to them before they were interviewed. Making little if any effort to question the bar or find the cab driver until the recordings and records were lost. And of course, not notifying the State Attorney of the investigation, though they allegedly let Winston's lawyers know. Briscoe and Green they are not.
I'm definitely not saying the allegations are true. But we'll never know for sure because of how badly this was handled. It's entirely understandable the accuser wants the police held accountable.
