Number 10 should've had all of the 'maybes' like the DT Macy's, another DT Winn Dixie, a Jax NBA team, Fuddruckers, etc. ;)

I dunno, spending $300k on programming more events downtown or for a retail enhancement program would have had much, much more bang for the buck than someone telling me how awesome downtown is while I roam empty streets on Saturday at 1pm or try to eat dinner at something other than the Jax Landing on a Monday night.

I personally like everyone involved with that effort, I just think (and I assume the authors also share this same thought) that it was money best spent elsewhere... and elsewhere includes no less than a dozen things that would be prioritized over this.
Thanks for sharing this great list. I still think number 6 is the most important plan the city could embrace.

actually its a well deserved jab at number 10
actually its not, whether its comes true or not is irrelevant.
Maybe we should put the naming of Forest High School up for bids like we do the stadium. AT&T High School, Coggin Toyota High School, or maybe Everbank High.........The school system could always use the money.

The only real progress downtown in 2013 has been Brooklyn. Why not continue to develop Brooklyn and see if other areas catch fire around it, like North Riverside, like Lavilla. Stay focused on developing the rest of Brooklyn, go down Park Street and push for redevelopment efforts there. Get in the news, be on TV (what the mayor does really well), make 2014 all about Brooklyn. There can't be any crime in Brooklyn, there are no people there, so its a low crime area. Focus resources on the one area.
