Title: Berkman plaza advice
Post by: Ssaurabh10 on December 23, 2013, 07:32:26 PM
Hi, we are planning to buy a condo or a townhouse in berkman plaza ...they are available for similar price ...what will appreciate more out of those ? What do you suggest ? Townhouse is not directly on the river but on east side ..thanks

east side units still face the river right...just through the marina facing Berkman 2 and the Shipyards?

seems to me its a personal decision...for example, while I enjoy living in an urban environment, I'm not fond of the idea of going up an elevator to my home....which is partially why I chose to buy a townhome at the Parks @ Cathedral downtown.

I always thought that the townhomes would fare poorly in a hurricane because they are built on top of the river, but who knows.

I'd probably go with the townhouse. No one living on top or below you.

are the townhouse HOA fees exorbitant like they are in the tower?

I don't want to speak for everyone here (most of which are more knowledgeable than me on these topics), but your best bet would be to talk to a realtor - this is what they do. If you don't feel like you're close enough to buying, check out some sites like zillow.com or trulia.com to give you an idea of pricing, etc.
