Title: Skyway Day
Post by: JeffreyS on April 12, 2008, 07:19:39 PM
We spent a family day downtown. Started at the Kings Ave. Station went to hemming plaza explored went to a museum came back and did an open house at the riverplace highrise.

Hurry up Dad.

My son loves the skyway too.  Kings Ave station is a great place to park on a saturday and then ride into town to the library and then to central for a walk to the Landing.

Kings ave station is an even better place to park during the work week! The Radisson (or whatever it is these days) and the Duval office park don't usually monitor their parking lots. So you can park for free, and just ride into the CBD - no hassle, no major expense.

Also, I'm glad your son liked the skyway. I was riding it once, and this family boarded with a little girl. She must have been scared of heights, because she starting FREAKING OUT. She was crying and even screaming in sheer terror. She wasn't even that young - maybe 6 or 7. I always thought that was a strangely amusing reaction to the skyway.

That's a new one!  My son got the biggest kick out of the "fact" that there is a little troll in the front compartment driving the thing.  He soon figured out that a troll could not possibly be driving the train because there was now way for it to breath and no way to see out of the compartment.  He called me a crazy liar and said it had to be automatic.  He's a smart little booger!
