Title: Zoe's Kitchen to open @ SJTC
Post by: spuwho on November 03, 2013, 11:50:01 PM
Zoe's Kitchen will be taking over the space at SJTC once held by Qdoba for several years.

No date yet on the opening.

^^^Thanks for the info. I take it that the place is pronounced 'Zoey's Kitchen' and not 'Zoh' like the Haitians, LOL. Has anyone been to the Riverside or Ponte Vedra locations yet? I see that they have shish-kabobs on the menu. I love kabobs, gotta check this place out.

Sorta a local chain, although they really come outa Birmingham. Part of the Bromberg family (also own Underwoods) started it. Been friends of the family forever, but I'll be the first to say, it's really not that good...

There was a Zoe's where the gym is now on Margaret street. It was alright, but one of those quasi-restaurant / quasi-fast food places, where it's cafeteria style and you have to serve yourself. For the price you could go to a real restaurant with a real server. So I never really liked it.

The one in Ponte Vedra is good as there's little else out there. Not sure how they'll do at the Town Center with so much competition and overhead, but best of luck to them.

Yeah, it felt a bit pricey for what it was. Like I paid an organic/fresh premium, even though it might not have really been either.

Misleading wording of the post re: the Margaret Street Zoe's. It's still there, unless it closed up shop within the last couple of days.

Anyway, it's a decent fast-casual place. I'm never in the mood to go, though, given the myriad dining options in Riverside.

I didn't realize it was still there, not trying to be misleading, thought it closed when the gym went into its space.

Yea Zoe's is is a couple doors down from the former gym. The Gym moved to Oak Street, and something else is going in the gym spot now.

From the sign out front the old (SNAP) gym spot will also be a gym....sort of.  It is Pure Barre.  Easier to look it up than explain it but think no or very little weights and more small movements.  More of a "studio" style gym.
