The Florida Georgia Block Party at the Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Arena presented by Bud Light benefitting Daniel Kids will be held Friday Nov 1 from 11:00AM-7:00PM. This family friendly event offers visitors to Jacksonville and residents alike a chance to kick-off Florida-Georgia Weekend.

There is something for everyone at the Florida Georgia Block Party, starting at 11AM as the Jax Truckies host the best food trucks in Jacksonville serving gourmet food at drive through prices. 8 trucks will be lined up outside the Arena and a portion of sales benefit DanielKids.

Fans also have the opportunity to compete in the Turner Pest Control Cornhole Tournament for a chance to win 4 suite tickets to see John Mayer in concert on December 10. The tournament starts at 2pm and registration is available at https://app.e2ma.net/app2/survey/1357303/213030396/9edbcfae7b/?v=a

Live music will be provided from IveyWest Band, Firewater Tent Revival and Something Distant. Kids can enjoy face painting and games. WQIK will be on site with prizes. Also on site, the 3rd annual Florida-Georgia Weekend BBQ Contest features some of the best bbq teams from the area competing for the Keith Hall Memorial Trophy and a spot in the Jacksonville Backyard BBQ Championships. Starting at 6pm, Jaxscene.com will be hosting a flag football tournament at the Shipyards.

Even if you can't hang out all day for the cornhole tournament, flag football tournament and live music

Free parking is available in the lot next to the Arena parking garage (the surface lot closest to the Matthews Bridge on ramp), if you wanted to swing by for lunch!

Mike,
Did you see the portable shipping containers being used for Florida/Georgia outside the stadium?
$250 a pop to party!

Yeah, they are pretty cool looking.

Imagine what some of those empty lots in downtown would look like with some creative use of shipping containers!

No pressure, but representatives from the BCS are in town reviewing Jax as a site for a college football national championship game... and they'll be stoping by the Block Party.

No pressure. I hear you. That's why I'm thinking about another RICO paddle in our highly restricted DIA zone and then take it to the No Fishing signs that was never before Waterways.

In fact give me a call 904-434-0839 and I'll show you personally. There is still an open contest for the new signage that was never before Waterways. Pick and choose the winners and losers. Special shout out to anyone outside of Duval county.

This is a positive opportunity for anyone.

Tides look good later today. What a story. What an adventure. This is Jacksonville!

It will be closest UM will get to a national championship, so go for it.

Captain, I'll owe you a birthday beer tomorrow... looking less and less likely that I'll be joining the festivities tonight.
