Lots of activity in the air over 5Points this Friday evening. Searchlights and sirens on the ground.
I saw this too. What gives?
Oh yeah, I heard them flying around when I was at O'Brother's... I was wondering what was going on! At one point I was used to that, but it seems like it's been awhile since the 'copters were flying around like that.

Riverfront between Copeland and Osceola would be "the castle"....interesting. Would love more facts.
About a month ago, a dog walker was at Myra & Osceloa (a nice, relatively active area) around 5:30pm during the week. A nice car pulled up, the passenger got out and attempted to rob the dog walker with what appeared to be a fake gun.. The victim took out a knife, swung, and the perp backed off. The driver then began to get out of the car with what may have been a real gun, and the dog walker ran away. Police say the car was probably stolen.
Bad things can and do happen everywhere. Be aware of your surrondings and make eye contact & say "hello" to other pedestrians you come across. Bad guys usually like to pick people who aren't paying attention or present easy opprotunities, no matter where you happen to be.
FYI...
On 09-13-13 at approximately 840pm, 3 victims were robbed at gun point at the corner of Memorial Park Dr. and Riverside Ave. 2 black males approached them on foot and one black male pushed the 2 male victims to the ground and kicked them in the side and then stole their wallets. The other black male held them at gun point. The suspects also demanded the female victim's purse in which she complied. The suspect fled on foot into Memorial Park and possibly fled in a gold colored sedan.
Please be mindful of your surroundings at all times and report any suspicious activity.

Just before this a single young black male approached a couple walking on River Blvd between Osceola and Copeland Streets with a pistol. Before they could comply, the approach of other people on the road made the robber run away. It is presumed to be connected to the Memorial Park Robbery.
Bummed.
