Nice update.
The link under #9 takes you to the Gus & Co. story. Does this mean that JTA has officially scrapped the awful four story building from the JRTC??
Some nice projects.
Any updates on The Volstead other than "Coming Soon"?
From what I hear, the office building at the JRTC is on a very back burner, if not off the stove. Part of the justification (and money) for the 4-story building was having one floor taken up by the Intelligent Transportation System "control room" plus the offices and meeting room for the North Florida Transportation Planning Organization (TPO). The TPO is going to build a new facility for ITS and their offices off Davis Street, next to the FDLE building.

fixed!
No update with the park view in? Too bad, I thought with the dollar gen. and mcdonalds that might inspire the project a bit. It's such an eye soar for so many passing through town.
Thanks for all of the updates. I had been wondering about what was going in the structure for Clara White. Sounds good. Now I wish they would get it together at the city so that the bistro/restaurant in the lodge building could open. I have always liked that building and the detail it has.

Kitchen on San Marco could open early 2014QuoteEducation Corporation of America, which owns Virginia College, is opening fully staffed teaching restaurants in the Southeast and plans its Jacksonville location in San Marco at a former pizza-burger location.
Ron Patak, Education Corporation of America vice president of student retail operations, said the Kitchen on San Marco could open in early January at 1402 San Marco Blvd., at the corner of Children's Way. A sign still hangs there for the former tenant, Papa Giorgio's.
Students at Culinard, The Culinary Institute of Virginia College, will train at the Kitchen on San Marco, which will feature local and regional foods and employ a professional staff of about 40 people.

my understanding, from their FB page, is that it opens in September
Can we all agree that the bakery on Lomax is dead?
RE: #11 Riverside and Jackson. The blurb states a Fresh Market will be locating there is that a done deal? I'm glad.
I have spoken with the owner of the Lomax bakery (Carrado's), and he is still working towards opening. Seems he is beset with "if it can go wrong, it will" syndrome.
Looking in the Corrado's window on Lomax it looks like they already opened and closed. Same with the phone fix it place 2 doors down.
I would recommend to the owner of the Carrado's bakery to put coming soon signs up or cover the windows with paper. His signage has been up for so long it really does look like he's already gone out of business.
I saw work being done inside the former Poppy Love Smoke space this afternoon.
Hopefully good news.

They used a recent photo of our building on E. 10th as the thumbnail and story lead photo. Very cool.

That's your building Tony. It's great! :)
Glad News4Jax has something fairly recent to report on...I've heard from multiple people in the last 2 weeks that they've seen me on the news...and its footage Channel 4 took nearly 2 years ago!
