Title: CSX in 2010
Post by: spuwho on August 19, 2013, 08:04:19 PM
Here is a look at CSX in 2010. Tonnage, routes, trackage. From the well regarded publication "Railroad Maps" by Kalmbach Publishing. Available at B&N or BAM.

As you can see Jacksonville is a key hub in their route plan. If you preuse the issue on the newsstand, you will see that deregulation of the railroads was great for Jacksonville, but lousy for Philly and Norfolk.

Ock could probably answer better than me:

East

- Powder River Coal
- Chinese imports via BNSF/UP
- Oil
- Fruit/Perishables
- Auto Racks

West:
- Auto Parts
- Auto Racks
- European Imports via NY/NJ
- Finished and unfinished steel products
