Title: New businesses in Oakleaf Plantation Area
Post by: dd0yl3 on August 06, 2013, 11:37:03 AM
Hello everyone, I am looking to buy in the Oak leaf area and was wondering if any new businesses were being built? I have seen the shopping center and just doesn't look like there is many different types of restaurants. There is also a sign for undeveloped area for a Walmart. Does any know if when more businesses will be  opening?

Nope, that sign for Walmart has been there for months, since at least beginning of 2013. There is a nice Publix located down in Oak Leaf Plantation, past the Clay Sheriff's office and nary anything around it. I think it will be a few more years before we see a lot more commercial there. Residential has to prove itself is coming back still a lot of foreclosures in Oakleaf to absorb.

I have family that lives in Oakleaf and  I make it back there a few times a month. Right now it is nothing but typically strip mall stores accompanied by nearly every fast food chain you can dream of. Some big box stores (Bed, Bath and Beyond, Bealls) have come and gone. There is even a closed Walgreens. The older Publix is always packed. The newer one used to be a ghost town but has been much busier.

They have a sign for a movie theater that is supposed to be built. But I would not be holding my breath on that one.
