Title: Mayor Brown hires Council Liaison
Post by: Cheshire Cat on July 24, 2013, 09:13:23 PM
It is no secret to political watchers that the relationship between this Mayor and City Council has not been the best.  In fact it has been downright touchy at times with members of council lashing out at Brown and what they see as his incompetence with issues like the budget and pension. The gap between the mayor's office and council widened when Brown failed to replace the previous liaison leaving little direct contact with council members who often felt as though Brown's office really hadn't much interest in reaching out to them.

Now the Mayors office has hired former FOP employee Theresa Eichner as liaison while planning to hire another liaison as well.  While it is good he has finally filled the empty liaison position at a healthy salary of $101K why I wonder in such tight financial times with talk of library cutbacks and closing of fire stations, does he now need a second liaison?

Diane...you did see what happened last night right?  That alone should explain why the Mayor needs as many council liaisons as he can get
