Title: Could something like this work downtown in Jax?
Post by: aquajosh on July 11, 2013, 09:12:56 PM
We're well past the stage of the St. Johns being clean enough to swim in, but this pool, which (if built) will be placed in the even filthier East River in New York City proposes a three-part filtration system to allow patrons to actually be able to swim in the East River, without *swimming* in the East River.

Our downtown is beautiful, and with water everywhere, there can never be enough pools or opportunities for children to learn to swim. Jacksonville has a strong aquatic history, and it would be a great family-friendly activity during the day that could easily be transitioned to a more adult concept at night. Could something like this work in our downtown?

Jacksonville should just abandon every downtown master plan and just let developers complete via Kickstarter. Imagine how downtown might look in 10 years.
