I thought I should join so I could contribute. I always find an interesting story or tidbit of history about this wonderful city reading Metro Jacksonville. 

Jacksonville has had such an interesting past, once a transportation hub and industrial giant of the southeast, it is poignant to see just how much we have given up. From the shipyards and warehouse piers filled with vessels from around the world to the massive railroad terminals and stations long gone.
