It's somewhere in Lavilla, I think.

Lavilla, slowly becoming downtown's version of the JTB/Southside area, only with low rises and ugly architecture. Hopefully BSS will change this.

Does anybody know what the development is for the very first picture. It looks like the riverwalk is in the background so it must be on Riverside but what development is it

Lord, can they hurry up and break damn ground on Brooklyn Park, wtf is takin so long, its not a totally residential project. I'm getting concerned that they are dragging their feet. I mean, they already mutilated a number of large trees, namely camfur and live oaks and completely uprooted an old texas sabal palm. It looks more and more like the courthouse site, just with shanty homes and trees. I'd hate to see all that prime land go to waste!

the Einstein Bros. Bagel show opens Monday, March 31 in the 1661 Riverside building at the corner of Margaret Street and Riverside Avenue.  They had their VIP (practice run) today.  Its very nice inside.  A bit smaller than a Panera, but plenty of seating.  A nice view into Memorial Park from the large windows facing Riverside Avenue.
There are still working out wi-fi, but hope to have it soon.  Good selection of breakfast (all day) and lunch and of course bagels.  They have the usual assortment of coffee, juices, frozen fruit drinks and sodas as well.  A lunch combo (sandwich + side will run about $6-7.  They have sandwiches, paninis, wraps, pizza bagels, soups and bagel dogs (hot dogs wrap in a bagel).  It will be another option for those (like me) who live/work in Riverside/Five Points.

Is it just more, or was BP 2's tower crane moving a lot yesterday? I was watching from my NAS Jax Weather office wall of windows.

Starbucks is gunna take a good hit from this one. This is much better than the supposed GAP that wanted that space. If only we had more parks like Memorial Park along the riverfront. Once the work on Hogan's Creek string of parks, it'll rival it. Can't wait for the Shipyards riverwalk extension and park to complete.

We have two in the heart of downtown that we fail to take advantage of.  Friendship Fountain on the Southbank and the grassy area on the Northbank between CSX and the Landing.  Both of those spaces could be great centralized urban waterfront public spaces with love and care and a little common sense.

GAP Wanted that space?  Where did you hear that?

I had heard from a few people in the neighborhood that GAP was possibly looking into what is now Einstein Bros. They aren't the best sources, but it was interesting to hear, but EB's is a much better suited tenant for the space.

I'd agree - but I think it's interesting that GAP was interested in a non-mall location

The Gap has non-mall locations in both Downtown Savannah and Charleston.

Exactly - two cities with real urban retail.  While I think Einstein Bros. is well needed, a Gap couls have signified that Jacksonville is ready for national, urban retail of some kind
