Title: Hawkers confirms plans for restaurant in Jacksonville's Five Points
Post by: thelakelander on May 24, 2013, 02:02:10 PM
Quoteawkers, a two-year-old restaurant in Orlando, is bringing its “Asian street fare” concept to Jacksonville’s historic Five Points neighborhood.

Kaleb Harrell, one of the restaurant’s owners, confirmed Thursday that Hawkers plans to set up shop at 1001 Park St., in three storefronts at the north end of the retail strip formerly occupied by retail store Downtown Divas and restaurants Fu Hao Bistro. Construction is expected to begin in early June. An October opening is planned.

The restaurant â€" named for the popular street vendors across Asia â€" offers a menu consisting largely of small plates of some of the most popular street foods from Hong Kong, Malaysia, Vietnam, Singapore and Korea. Other offerings include wok stir-fried noodles, traditional noodle soups and more.

They were at the Slow Food First Coast Slow Down at Intuition Ale this month. The food was incredibly delicious! You can see some photos here: https://www.facebook.com/events/161033427394211/
