Post by: duvaldude08 on April 25, 2013, 04:18:17 PM
Thought Id just take it upon myself and make a seperate thread. Just read that we are fielding trade calls, which is what I want. Well see how things shape up. Anybody else going to the stadium tonight?

I won't be in attendance. I'll be watching the Heat game and flipping channels to occasionally get draft updates.

Yeah, it sounds fun but I don't care who the other teams get. I'll keep up with it online during my beer breaks from BioShock Infinite, my progress in which has been severely reduced by grad school.

Not me.  I'm in the UK this year, so I'm about to take a nap before a 1AM wake up to (hopefully) watch the Dolphins give us a collection of picks to move up for Joeckel.  Here's to hoping!

Luke Joeckel OT - Texas A&M.  What do you Jags fans think?

Hey Lake, what do you think about your Phins getting Dion Jordan in the first round?

They're rebuilding, so I'm cool with it.  However, I'm concerned with the OL since Jake Long wasn't resigned.

I like the Joeckel pick. Not sexy but he should be a cornerstone for the team. Would like to see them trade back and get more picks today.

Really great pick by the Jags.

It's sink or swim for BG this year.

Pretty shocking to see the Dolphins trade up for Dion Jordan, and the Bills take EJ in round one.

I really hope the Jags don't bite on Geno Smith.

I'd much rather see them plug other holes, gives Gabbert one more shot with improved protection, and then hold off until next year when the QB class is stronger.

AFter much prayer and meditation, Im cool with it. I was afraid he would not be able to adapt to right tackle, but after ready he used to play right tackle at one point Im all in. After seeing our offensive line get plowed last year, its good to see a great addition. The Texans home game is all that sticks out in my mind. I remember the team being pinned in the end zone and out line getting man handled snap after snap, and then Gabbert got sacked and it was almost a safety. That is definately something that needed to be fixed. Him and Monroe are gonna make a great duo.

I can agree and disagree Ken we need to draft a QB in this draft. I think as a franchise, we have not been aggressive enough bout the QB position. Our pattern has been draft one QB, let them play three years, then cut them and try another. Let them play three years....you get the point. Teams that have been sucessful at drafting QBs have hit and miss numerous time until they found the right one. QB's are so vital to success now in the NFL I dont think we need to sit on our hands anymore. Whether is Geno at #2 or not, we need to draft one to compete atleast I think so

Poor Geno. He's got drafted into a terrible situation up there. So now they have Garrad, Tebow, Sanchez and Smith. We already know Tebow is probably gonna be released this week. But what are they gonna do with the others?

Third pick is good. Definately feels a need. He does seem like an immediate starter, but are extremely thin at CB so the competition in traning probably will determine if he starts or not. Im interested to see what we do with the other 4 picks. Weve already taken care of three needs. Other DE, I cant think of anything else that is important.

I think we should get him with #4 and being him in to compete. Weve filled our major holes, so we can start getting a little random with the last few picks  ;D

yup. So even if hes not in the starting line up with the receivers, he will definately be a hell of a return man. He has alot of spunk for a little guy.

The more I watch this, the more I question everything Gene Smith did. Caldwell is making it look so simple. LOL

Can't argue with that. Caldwell appears to have a great draft on this hands. However, you really won't know for sure until we get into the season.

Just saying the draft in general. Gene traded up every to grab someone with the first pick, who was not really a first pick, etc. To me, they are building it the right way. You cant build a team if you giving picks aways. Thats the main thing that has stood out to me. And they have a plan and an indentity they want the team to have. Khan, Caldwell and Gus are all on the same page. JDR, Gene Smith and WW were all over the place. We finally have some direction.

Im also noticing they are picking versitile players. Dude we just picked from Michigan plays running back and WR, and Ace Sander is an explosive receiver and kick returner. Ace's size just concerns me. He is little.

Caldwell sadi we are getting a quaterback in college free agency, which has already started. I guess we will hear more soon. I have a feeling they want Matt Scott. Earlier in the offseason there were rumors the Jags liked him. And if Im not mistaken, he didnt get drafted. He has some good traits, but needs some work.
