Former Warhol Factory worker, Barbara Colaciello is directing one of the most heavily awarded bits of theatrical writing of the past ten years. I almost skipped watching the clip. Holy cow! What a voice... And what a moving song. Honestly, I expected some hokie cowtown version of unbearableness. Not the case. A professionally produced play featuring serious talent. I think I need to check out players by the sea.
I was fortunate to see Passing Strange at both the Public in NYC and on Broadway. Enjoyed the Public venue better - more intimate and kind of in the round- may be more of a 180 degree stage. Assuming this would be the setup for Players by the Sea. Great music and story. GO see it!
Stew & The Negro Problem are NOT TO BE MISSED playing at 11pm on 4/27!!! After moving to Jacksonville from the west coast, I never thought I'd be able to see him play again, so I'm beyond excited that he will be playing here.
I've seen TNP many times (fan long before Passing Strange) and Stew is incredible live. Seriously, don't miss it.
