The 1998 murder of Jacksonville Beach waitress Corey Parker and the 2005 conviction of neighbor Robert Erik Denney in her stabbing death will be the subject of a new episode of Investigation Discovery’s “Dead of Night,” set to air at 10 p.m. Tuesday, March 19.

The episode includes interviews with the woman’s best friend, Aymee Dudley, retired Jacksonville Beach detective Billy Carlyle, chief forensic investigator Lou Eliopulos, State Attorney Angela Corey and former Times-Union reporter Paul Pinkham.

Denney was 17 when he entered Parker’s apartment at Fourth Street and 15th Avenue North and stabbed her 101 times. The 25-year-old college student’s body was found the next day when she didn’t show up for her job at Ragtime Tavern in Atlantic Beach.

Denney consistently denied knowing Parker. But his DNA was found on a blood smear in Parker’s apartment blood, along with some strands of hair. A jury found him guilty of first-degree murder and he was sentenced to life in prison.

The Jacksonville Beach case was also featured on the 2010 season finale of SOLVED on Investigation Discovery.
