The Pirates of Penzance is possibly one of the most whimsical and clever of the Gilbert and Sullivan Pantheon of comic operettas. Plus there is the local tie in---The Major General is widely supposed to have been based partially on the bloody minded and pedantic father in law of Jville's most famous and colorful Madame: Lord Donald Stewart and Cora Crane respectively.
