A lot of nice positive projects. Thanks for the update.
Where is the goozlepipe surface lot? What did they demolish to build that?
Since new housing infill is being highlighted now, 22 E. 5th Street should be on the list. A 2-story going up now. Also, net-zero housing on Liberty Street is set to break ground in the next couple months as well.
^Thanks, Bill. Is this multifamily? I'll have to check it out.

It's on Forbes, directly behind Panda House. I believe it was an empty when it was acquired but it originally had a house on.
The net-zero housing is supposed to be single-family. They were approved at last nights HPC meeting for the construction of two houses.
How is that McDonald's so expensive?? G&G costs less than half as much and will be larger than McD's.

because they bought a much larger parcel of land....had to demolish the old car dealership and completely rebuild the drainage system
^Then I hope they sell a ton of nuggets to recoup that cost.
Robert E Lee looks gorgeous. I hope MM is able to accomplish their buildout on that very quick timeline, but I have my doubts. Can't wait for the train station to take shape and continue the growth of the Hendricks Ave corridor.
Lee does look good. I was there from 1992-1996, it wasn't in too bad of shape then, it had been redone after that large fire in the 80s just about took out the third and second floors.

With nearly 70,000 cars on State/Union every day, they'll sell them and more. I wouldn't be surprised to see more similar type development along this corridor in the next few years. I just wish we saw the importance in modifying our zoning policy to encourage more multimodal friendly development along this stretch to help bridge the gap between downtown and Springfield.
Oh Urban Construction Update, my favorite day of the month!
Date on Aardwolf still has January.
I was in Aardwolf last weekend for the first time in a long time. It's really impressive. The tap room will be open next week or so, though they won't be able to brew beer yet (and they won't be able to serve it for another month or so after that.)
Seems like that Ardy's joint in Springfield has been "coming" for 2 years now???

HELL yea man...That union State section will make a killing. But if they put more business there, they may have to kill some of those traffic lights, when its all Green, State and Union is like a racetrack or at least thats how it used to be.
I was a little surprised they have the main entrance on State St. We could see some rear end collisions there with the speeding and tailgating so common.

My bad. It looks like I skipped over that temporary place note. It's obviously a restaurant/bar going into the old Layla's spot on Hendricks. However, I personally don't know the details at this point to provide more info. I'm sure, someone reading this thread will eventually give an update.

McDonald's = traffic calming.

I thought Layla's was just rebuilding? Looks like they pushed the front wall further from the street, to have some more comfortable patio seating.
I drove by the Ale Pie House and they had a small sign out front that said they were open. Didn't see many cars though. Will try and go back this week and check it out.
Man this is a cool website. I want to visit Jacksonville.

They put up a new sign over the weekend:
Mezze bar and grill
(I believe it was an 'e' at the end, and not an 'a')
Whatever it is (with that name, I'm guessing its the same food style), it looks to be opening soon.
Just FYI, Jax Truckies is helping kick off the official grand opening of Aardwolf Brewery this Friday night from 5-11. Corner Taco and Gourmet Aviator will be on hand for the festivities.
All over that.
If you get a chance check out JTA on Myrtle.
