Ocwen, which recently acquired Homeward Residential for 766 million announced that it will be closing its Jacksonville office in July in addition to layoffs elsewhere in the company. The Southside Jacksonville location employs approximately 400 people.
Homeward Residential was formerly known as American Home Mortgage Servicing or "AHMSI" for short.
According to the numbers on the WARN notice it's listed at 370, not 400. The head count has always varied here. It's been as high as 520, and as low as 250.

About 100 are call center employees. The rest are mortgage servicing professionals.
Sounds like the T-U could use a few more details.

Sadly it's not a surprise to most of us. Ocwen has a history of doing this with it's other acquisitions as well. Once the sale of the company was announced last October most of the tenured employees started leaving.
At least with the WARN act we get a decent notice and severance package.
