DVI has been lazy in the fundraising and grant writing arena because they have always been able to rely on a steady stream of money rolling in. Told them that last summer when I talked to them about a position there and also told them that $575k for Downtown Ambassadors was ridiculous. You can likely operate a part volunteer, part paid staff based program at a fraction of that cost with similar results.

Now that the money has dried up somewhat, the organization needs to re-invent itself or risk falling off the map.
