QuoteJACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A community redevelopment plan has been unveiled for the Historic Eastside/Springfield and Northwest Jacksonville neighborhoods that has the residents fingerprints all over it.
A packed house heard the plan at Everbank Field Thursday evening for the kickoff of Building EPIC Communties.
The Local Initiatives Support Corporation, known as LISC, with the help of Operation Hope, and the Northwest Jacksonville Community Development Corporation, has spent the last year doing one-on-one interviews with neighborhood residents and group meetings to determine what residents want to see in their communities.
Each community has come up with a quality of life plan for their area.

Nice. That kind of money can go a long way if it's put to good use.
This and the Exchange Club story are a one-two punch of good news.
I can say that the consensus from the Springfield community is hopeful, but waiting to see specifics.
On a somewhat related note, NSP3 projects have been ready to move forward in the neighborhood for many, many months, but they seem stuck in the Mayors office. An extension will have to be granted to use these funds now.
What's the hold up about?
^Is that a serious question?
If something happens...great.
If not...we'll do it ourselves.

What's the hold up about?
The million dollar question. About any number of issues, these days.
