A friend who owns/reps the building has announced on Facebook that the former Preservation Chophouse / Ruan Thai location on St John's Ave has been leased to someone who will be opening the amazingly generically-named "Al's Pie House" there shortly.
(I guess "Al's Wood Fired Blue Moon Mushroom Pie House" was too much to say when answering the phone?)
Given the distance from there to Tommy Donahoo's house, "Public Outcry" (lol) isn't likely to be an issue.
Does anyone know who's opening it?
I haven't heard who the people are as of yet. I am guessing they may be offering more of a gourmet set up given the location which put them out there next to the Loop, Hungry Howies and the soon to be Mellow Mushroom. I am glad someone is set to move into the place.
Good god it's going to be total mayhem and anarchy. Obviously.
pizza is the new frozen yogurt in riverside.
First the rowdy pizza crowd came for the old abandoned gas station
and I didn't speak out, because, come on, It's Pizza!
That building is cursed.
No way that I would be investing any money into that spot.
