Miami's annual super powered festival has become the premier art event in the United States.  There is literally nothing that comes close to its prestige, size or importance.  What happens at Art Basel definitely does NOT stay at Art Basel, and there are several Jacksonville Delegations heading down to the South of the State to participate in the event.  This year, MetroJacksonville will be in attendance and our coverage will be led by the popular young face of our newscasting team, Josh Taylor.

Where do all plan to begin!?
This event carries with it (to me) more and more of a carnivale vibe now.
live blog if possible?
I am certain you all will be far too occupied with bewildering sights and sounds to have time to stay plugged in here, but nontheless, as I am unable to attend the shows, openings, and festivities, I look forward to you updates!
HAVE FUN!

I am only a little jealous ;}

I hear it's a blast....my sister-in-law is down there doing PR/communications for AriZona while they roll out their new beverage in partnership with artist Richard Prince.

 It was as great as ever this year. Most attention was on the "context" of Banksy's pieces being removed from walls and put on the arts market.
Its become the art event of the year with galleries from around the world involved if they want to reach out as a major gallery of the world (or the west for that matter).
Wynwood District continues to make its play into the event from the angle of street art and definitely profiled as high as ever this time around.
As a fine art screenprinter, I focused on Miami Ink. I feel confidant in saying that we have here in Jax many competent artists that easily fit within the format at Art Basil. Morrison Pierce had wheatepastes in Wynwood that were as strong as anything else on the walls and streets of Miami.
