If you are a young professional that lives, works or plays in Riverside/Avondale there is a young professional group meeting RAP180 next Tuesday (Dec 4th) at 6PM at Elevated Avondale. Free appetizers, drink specials and we'll be talking about several cool projects you can get involved with that will help the neighborhood. This is a fantastic opportunity to meet new people and more importantly make an impact on your community.
Hope to see a few of you there!
I'm there!
I might try to check it out this time.
Sorry I missed the Pele event last night, but I will definitely be at this one again.
Please let us know when this group breaks away from RAP and issues can be discussed without Carmen et al poisoning the waters.
Confused why this meeting is at elevated avondale??? Owner: not friendly towards Riverside/Avondale progress.
If you are able to attend, live in/own or lease space in/near Riverside-Avondale, Murray Hill, Fairfax, Ortega/Lakeside Park areas, North Riverside, or yes even Springfield or SanMarco - and care anything at all about your community, block, doorstep, backyard neighbor, property value, links to improvement and economic enhancement of the inner ring of this great city, perhaps you could disregard your emotions related to whomeverelse is seated down the bar from you?
come one come all.
undoubtedly there is something to be learned?

I'm pretty sure the group is associated with RAP180, which is the young professional arm of RAP

Yeah, that's my point.

I've asked the same question but had no response.
If you've made up your mind... then the only thing I can do is respect your decision.
I feel there are great opportunities to create solutions in the neighborhood. Arguing about problems isn't very interesting to me. The group that came together last month was of that same mindset.
I encourage others reading that if you are looking to meet some like-minded people, maybe are new to the area(I met some cool people that just moved to R/A last month) or just want to get involved in some cool things... consider attending or tell a friend.
Thank you
Is there an agenda or list of projects? I've been talking with Carmen about cleaning up the alleys and using them for community gardens.
Disclaimer: I am no longer a RAP member, but I am willing to work with RAP to benefit my neighborhood.
Bumping this up for tomorrow.
I will be there!
No chance of changing the group's name to be more inclusive of its SPR brethren, is there? :-)

If any young professional wants to write a check for $1 to the City of Jacksonville I will personally deliver it on your behalf at the 12/12/12 Jacksonville Waterways Commission meeting at 9:30 am in council chambers.
Write 2009-442 on the check.
Also write Artificial Reef Trust Fund on it as well.
There is something to be learned.
Field, I'll get something on that list.
I'll send you a PM.
I'm All In.
I'll be coming by tonight...only for about 30 minutes though. I've got something at 7 I've got to be at.
