The Great Fire of 1901 caused severe destruction to downtown Jacksonville.  In the Currents of Time exhibit, MOSH revisits that time and shares how it happened, and how the city ended up bouncing back.

I think this is the first time I've not seen the Great Fire mentioned...the anniversary date was last Friday, May 3, 2013 - 112 years after it occurred, which was also on a Friday.  I usually drive over to where it began and offer prayers for those who were so affected, and give thanks for those who came to reconstruct our City.  As it was a little wet last weekend, however, I didn't venture out this year.
