Title: Black Friday at SJTC
Post by: MelMel on November 23, 2012, 09:48:04 PM
Today I aided in the madness at the SJTC from 6 a.m. - 2 p.m. while I helped ring up a never-ending line of people at just one of the many busy stores today.  Though that timeframe was every bit as chaotic as I expected, I heard from friends at other stores that it was nothing compared to the craziness between midnight - 4 a.m.

Did anyone participate in the biggest shopping day of the year?  Or did you just save yourself from a panic attack and avoid the crowd like I would've done if my attendance wasn't mandatory?

I stayed in my parent's house all day long.  Simply relaxed and never took a foot outside.  However, my mom tells me the Macy's store here (Winter Haven, FL) was as packed as she's ever seen it.

I went after breakfast (around 8 or so) I figured it was safe then. Of course, I avoided walmart like I do year round. To get the "Door busters" you need to camp out, but there are deals all day long on clothing and other items. Lots of good deals this year were online.
I also avoided SJTC, that place is bad enough on a normal day. I stayed in the Regency area, JCP was really packed, even at lunch time.

On a related note, this was a Victoria Secret at Woodland Hills Mall in Tulsa, Oklahoma:
