Title: NEW MOBILITY PLAN MORATORIUM THREAT!
Post by: Ocklawaha on October 18, 2012, 10:17:04 AM
If an expected last minute appeal to extend the moratorium is filed Friday afternoon we must be ready to meet the threat. Everyone, and I mean EVERYONE that attended the Mobility Plan moratorium sunset hearing at the City Council needs to be ready to gather all friends and family and be at Tuesday nights City Council meeting.

Let's keep these lines of communication wide open. We can either 'be there' or 'be Biloxi,' the choice is ours to make.

See Doug's post on the other thread.  According to him, no CM has told him they would allow this to be an emergency vote.  However, be there if you can just in case.  Doug makes a good point that we don't want to become background noise, so unless it comes up for a vote, or a bill is introduced at the meeting, best not to say anything at this time and save comments for when there is a bill to speak about.

So was no emergency bill filed to extend the moratorium?

Not according to the City Council web page.  But ... I think someone could introduce a bill anytime up to Tuesday's Council meeting.  Introduce it as an Emergency, and if 7 members do not vote against the emergency, then the bill, it passes.
