QuoteDowntown Vision is asking City Council for a renewal of its property taxing authority for downtown businesses.
That levy allows the group to employ ambassadors who do a lot more than just direct visitors. They handle a lot of cleanups downtown that we normally would expect city crews to be doing.
Executive Director Terry Lorrince says that to revive downtown we need to attract more people there. She suggests an interest in partnering with groups willing to help.
And she looks to a park in Houston as a model for Hemming Plaza.
