Title: Video of Terry Lorrince speak about downtown Jacksonville

QuoteDowntown Vision is asking City Council for a renewal of its property taxing authority for downtown businesses.

That levy allows the group to employ ambassadors who do a lot more than just direct visitors. They handle a lot of cleanups downtown that we normally would expect city crews to be doing.

Executive Director Terry Lorrince says that to revive downtown we need to attract more people there. She suggests an interest in partnering with groups willing to help.

And she looks to a park in Houston as a model for Hemming Plaza.

Watch the video.

This really is an interesting and revealing watch for those that haven't taken the time to do so.

The Transform Jax document regarding Hemming Plaza is spot on!  Good job and thanks for helping to elevate the discussion on this important topic.
