I've found myself in this part of town on the average of once a week lately, and saw a sign for Cupcakery.
I'm assuming it's a bakery that specializes in cupcakes?
Has anyone been? Any thoughts?

Good luck. Just LMAO. Nothing personal.
Is it the place over by the loop? If so it's ok, not the best, not the worst.
It's just OK. Had better, had worse.
That being said....a) I, by and large, really dislike sweets...b) the place has been open at least 3 years, so at least SOME people must love it!
I keep that place open all by myself. To me what sets them apart is the specialty case to left of the entrance. They have very moist cupcakes that are filled with some sort of fruit or cream, and then topped with frosting, or in the case of the Tiramisu, and Creme Brulee a great crunchy shell. I know where I will be after work.
They're okay. Sweet by Holly at the SJTC is much better in my opinion.

This can't be right. Even if the cupcakery is boring, bland, and dry it would still beat SbH. That place is just a dry version of publix with more variety.
If you're talking about the place on St. John's Avenue by The Loop, the proper name of the place is Sivada's Cupcakery. In my humble opinion, it's the best cupcake place in Jax, hands down. My favorite is the Creme-Brulee.
I've been to a fair amount of cupcake places (Cami Cakes, Sweet By Holly, Let Them Eat Cake, and Cupcake Girls).
If you like moist, but not oily cake, then this is the place to go! Hope you like it!
