ATLANTA -
A picture has been released of a streetcar that could soon grace the streets of Atlanta.
Atlanta Streetcar posted the picture on its Facebook page. According to Reese McCranie, the deputy director of communications of Mayor Kasim Reed's office, the streetcar is currently being worked on in Sacramento.
It's one of four streetcars purchased by the city for the 2.6 mile stretch from Centennial Olympic Park to the Martin Luther King Jr. Historic District.
Cool, very modern looking - not what comes to mind when you hear streetcar, but I like it! Those look more like Torontos
Someone show this picture to JTA!!!!! Once they realize that actual 'streecars' come with rubber wheels, they'll jump all over it. 8)
Someone correct me if I'm wrong but the Atl streetcars will be the first Siemens cars in the US. S70 LRT Vehicle.
Track hasn't even been laid yet so they won't be riding along anytime soon. The streetcar and Nat'l Center for Civil and Human Rights are taking forever to be built. And so is College Football FoF, but when all 3 are done it will be quite a district.
