Title: What about Pensions?
Post by: Cheshire Cat on August 21, 2012, 01:30:23 PM
This is a good piece from the Daily Record discussing some statements by Council President Bill Bishop.  Alvin Brown ran with pension reform as a part of his platform, was sworn in 7/2011 by 8/2011 he had the reports from his transition committee on what needed to happen in our city and Pension reform was one about which they gave direction.  It has been a year and still no "plan", just statements from his office saying they are working on it.  Browns people have yet to sit down with the pension folks at the JSO to this date and are not answering questions from the council.  I hope they have some solid answers before long.  This issue is paramount when it comes to fixing our financial woes.
