The new restaurant at 1171 Edgewood is now open for business! The T-U has some pretty nice things to say about it, at:

I have to agree with the reviewer regarding the Caesar salad - it's fantastic!
Fine Dining in Murray Hill - who'da thunk it?

looks great! I'm going to have to check it out very soon.
That's great that someone seems to be doing so well there. I hope it lasts. There was a Spanish restaurant there a few years ago that I thought was fantastic but they never had any business and closed its doors not too far after it opened.
That little area could use a nice busy restaurant like this, generate some more interest and hopefully some money into the housing around there too. Btw, my house is just on the other side of the tracks in Avondale and it's for sale if anyone is interested ;D
We ate their and were not that impressed. Would rather walk down to Biscotti's or The Brick.
BTW, i believe they purchased Preservation's glasses and silverware.

While walking by the old 1171 place last night I noticed that everything is still in there including furniture, menus, and even the liquor. Does anyone know what is going on there? Did they just abandon everything, are they obligated to a lease and are just letting everything sit there as storage, or do they have possible plans of reopening when the economy improves?
^The owner of that whole building including the gift shop and the sushi place spaces, actually owned and operated the restaurant as well, so they were leasing from themselves.
Not sure what they're trying to do though - lease it all out as a whole or in a waiting pattern, who knows.
I liked the Sinatra booth.
OK, Thanks Jason.
