Typical mad man Dan. He probably thought that he was in the morning radio realm of 1010XL.

I've been at a couple of events and he's been there and I've seen him get pretty irate off camera. I don't mind him as a sportscaster and Bob does rattle on and on about stuff but still- wouldn't want to work for Dan.

Back in the early 90's, wasn't there an incident with Steve Smith? All I can remember is that there was talk of him almost being fired because he said something about Willard Scott and didn't know he was on the air- called him an SOB, a-hole or something along those lines. I think he had to make an on-air apology.

Hilarious!  Bob Costas does think very highly of himself... 8)

The look in Donna's eyes screamed, "Thank Little Baby Jesus that I'm married to the weatherman tonight."

Seems Gator Dan is just jealous of Bob Costas, wondering why he has not gotten the call from the networks. Complaining over minutes? Nice...

Looks like this rant made it all the way to Anderson Cooper's "Ridiculist"  ;D

It was pretty funny; Anderson Cooper took it out of context towards the end of his segment.  I don't like when people can't smile and laugh off what was meant as a joke.

I am not fan of Dan Hicken, he is way too much of a Gator homer for my tastes, but this whole thing was a joke to begin with.  Hicken is and always will be a clown.
Anderson Coopers people should have done a bit more research because now he looks like dumb too.

Having met Dan and Tim, I'd take Dan any day of the week.

This whole thing was pretty obviously Dan clowning around.

Perhaps, but it is a far different affect when the action is portrayed on television versus the radio, where he rants on a daily basis. Perhaps fewer people listen to him on the radio of late, and he needed to tune up his ratings? Using 12/25 as his medium though was poor journalism, in my opinion.  We already have 1 Howard Stern, no room for another ego that size in journalism.
