A call for help has been put out by one of the moderators and is needing updates on JAX's downtown and around town developments. We need to do everything we can to make our page the superior one of Florida, beating down Orlando's. Ya'll help me!, I can't do this alone!
I seem to remember this site, and metjax before it being started because members were being unceremoniously being bounced from Urban Planet. Lake, Riverside, does that about sum it up in 15 words or less?
Exactly. We were on UP before being booted off by a freakishly overbearing moderator named metroboi. Wow, that was a long time ago. I prefer the situation now and to hell with UP. ;D

LOL. I started that entire Florida subsection on UrbanPlanet a few years back, but was banned because I defended a few Jax members that were kicked off because they got the best of a UP moderator in a debate.
This is what happens when you ban a subforum's main members. Basically, we took our balls home and started a new game which has led to the creation of MetroJacksonville.com.

Same here y'all. I joined in about the same time as the Old MetJax and got into it over Bus vs Rail with someone, they asked me for facts so I posted part of Light Rail Now's fact page.

Out it goes, they delete everything and last I looked I was still labeled with "ILLEGAL POSTER" or some such.

I heard people can be banned for always typing in bold of all caps.
You've got like 500 fewer posts then most of the rest of us, give it time, your golden boy image will tarnish if not rust ;)
I'd help, but I was kicked off for questioning metroboi's logic in kicking off the other members who made our page one of the best on the site.

It wasn't the subject matter, but rather where it was posted. I think the "hotdog" comments were more appropriate for a food-related topic than the one on illegal prostitution ;)
Is Urban Planet even active anymore?
The website is. Most of the Florida section outside of Orlando's is pretty dead. I started Urban Planet's Florida section and subforums back in 2003. Before being banned from the site, the Jax, Miami, and Orlando subforums were very active. After we left and form MetroJax, Tallahassee followed with a similar site of its own (http://www.urbantallahassee.com/ (http://www.urbantallahassee.com/)) and the majority of everything else died.
