I really cannot wait to go downtown this weekend and ENJOY all of the great TRAFFIC!!!
Jax has two great events going on downtown and the best thing local news can come up with are stories about all of the traffic downtown?

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -
If you plan to go downtown this weekend whether for the Jacksonville Jazz Festival, the U.S. soccer game against Scotland or any other reason, you need to know what roads are closed and where to park to avoid major delays and confusion.
"There will be some congestion and there will be some delays," said Asst. Chief Leonard Propper of the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.
The following streets are currently closed and will remain shut down until midnight Sunday: Laura, Adams, Hogan, Duval, Monroe and Main streets, Sister Cities Plaza, and Independent Drive.
If you were hoping to get on a shuttle like fans can do for Jaguars games, don't count on it because there won't be any. The best way to get to the sports complex is to take Union and Bay streets.
If you're trying to cross the river into downtown, go over the bridge that is closest to your destination. For example, the Main Street Bridge is best for the Jazz Fest, and the Hart Bridge is best for the soccer game at EverBank Field.
The parking lots open at noon. If you decide you would like to take a taxi home, you can access those at the north end of the stadium near Gate 3.
"Like always, we encourage people to come early and it should be no problem whatsoever," Propper said.
The Sheriff's Office adds that of everyone piling into downtown this weekend, many of them will not be from Jacksonville, so police ask locals to keep that in mind.
"Help them get to where they need to go, be nice, be courteous," Propper said.
If you plan to park downtown, don't forget cash to park because some parking lots will charge this weekend.

How about just taking the Skyway from the Kings Ave station? I did that last year for Jazz Fest and it was awesome. It went straight to Hemming Plaza.

I agree. Not sure why news4jax went out of their way to point out the negatives of great events though. I live in Springfield and will be glad to take a leisurely bike ride dt this weekend.

I was about to say the same thing. In SPR, it's a quick bike ride. No traffic required.

"We got the bubble-headed-bleach-blonde who
comes on at five
She can tell you 'bout the plane crash with a gleam
in her eye
It's interesting when people die-
Give us dirty laundry
Can we film the operation?
Is the head dead yet?
You know, the boys in the newsroom got a
running bet
Get the widow on the set!
We need dirty laundry
You don't really need to find out what's going on
You don't really want to know just how far it's gone
Just leave well enough alone
Eat your dirty laundry
Kick 'em when they're up
Kick 'em when they're down
Kick 'em when they're up
Kick 'em when they're down
Kick 'em when they're up
Kick 'em when they're down
Kick 'em when they're stiff
Kick 'em all around
Dirty little secrets
Dirty little lies
We got our dirty little fingers in everybody's pie
We love to cut you down to size
We love dirty laundry
We can do "The Innuendo"
We can dance and sing
When it's said and done we haven't told you a thing
We all know that Crap is King
Give us dirty laundry!"

Yeah, they could have mentioned that.
